“What if my drivers refuse geolocation?”

The CNIL framework requires prior information, specific purposes and deactivation outside working hours; Dadycar's time-based geofencing serves that distinction.

“Do I need a device?”

For the score and the behavior alerts, yes, or a connected OEM vehicle. Licenses, assignments and accidents work with no hardware.

“Is this a disciplinary tool?”

No: the signals serve prevention, servicing and safety, and the CNIL rules out speed-limit monitoring through geolocation.

Frequently asked questions

What is corporate eco-driving?

Eco-driving is a set of driving practices (anticipation, steady pace, progressive braking) that reduce fuel consumption, vehicle wear and accident risk. In a fleet, it is measured through a score derived from telematics data and managed per site and per period. See the eco-driving article.

How do you monitor the behavior of fleet drivers?

Through the data reported by the vehicle (GPS/OBD device or connected OEM vehicle): trips, impact or collision, braking, brake condition, tire pressure. Dadycar turns them into alerts with a threshold and a recipient, and into an eco-driving score shown in the dashboard. Accidents are ranked by driver.

Can an employer geolocate employees' vehicles?

Yes, under conditions: a legitimate purpose (safety, service tracking, route optimization), written information to employees, consultation of staff representatives, limited retention periods. The CNIL prohibits collection outside working hours, permanent surveillance and speed-limit monitoring.

How do you check employees' driving licenses?

The license is stored as a driver document with its expiry date; Dadycar alerts before the deadline and keeps the proof in the documents module. The validity of the license is the driver's responsibility; the employer may ask for a periodic declaration.

What is a driver's RFID badge for?

The RFID badge identifies the employee when picking up a shared vehicle: the trip is attached to the right person, with no key and no data entry. In Dadycar, the badge appears on the employee record and is used with the car sharing schedule.
