Real-time fleet tracking and geolocation

Fleet vehicle tracking shows the position and journeys of a company's vehicles in real time. The data comes from a GPS box plugged into the OBD port, or straight from the manufacturer for connected vehicles, with no box at all. Dadycar shows it on a map, with geofencing, alerts, optimized routes and a private mode for the driver.

Managing a modern vehicle fleet requires more than just GPS tracking. It's a complex challenge balancing operational efficiency, regulatory constraints, and financial control. Faced with delays, suboptimal routes, scattered data, and risky behaviors, how can you regain control? Dadycar provides the answer with its vehicle tracking and fleet management solution powered by Artificial Intelligence, designed to improve your fleet's performance and turn your challenges into competitive advantages.

Fleet Managers' Daily Obstacles: Do You Recognize These Challenges?

Managing a company fleet is a precision task. Yet without the right tools, obstacles hinder your performance:

Not being able to instantly locate your vehicles through a reliable geolocation system causes delays, poor task assignments, and loss of valuable time. Without this visibility, it's impossible to optimize resources or respond quickly to unforeseen events. Consequences: operational inefficiency and increased costs.

Poorly planned routes (ignored traffic, unnecessary detours, incorrect location) lead to excess fuel consumption, longer delivery times, premature vehicle wear, and lower customer satisfaction. Consequences: direct financial impact and brand image degradation.

Excel, emails, notebooks, paper... The dispersion of information (maintenance, fuel use, incidents) prevents a global view, complicates decision-making, and increases the risk of errors. Consequences: reactive rather than proactive management, lost opportunities for optimization.

Regulatory Compliance (GDPR): A Legal Headache

Ensuring GDPR compliance and adherence to company agreements on vehicle geolocation (driver information, data retention period, justification) is crucial but complex. A mistake can be costly. Consequences: risk of sanctions, disputes, and loss of trust.

Compromised Safety: Risky Behaviors and Theft Risks

Undetected aggressive driving (sudden braking, speeding), poor maintenance tracking, lack of appropriate measures in case of theft... These factors increase the risk of accidents, breakdowns, and material losses. Consequences: higher insurance costs, business disruptions, and endangerment of employees.

Fleet tracking, vehicle by vehicle

Fleet tracking brings each vehicle's position, trips and status together on one screen. Dadycar does it with no box on connected vehicles, and with a GPS-OBD tracker on the others.

What comes in as the vehicles drive:

  • Real-time position and trip history, with each vehicle's mileage.
  • Alerts with configurable thresholds: leaving a zone, impact, low battery.
  • Geofencing by site and by time slot.
  • Charge level of electric vehicles.
  • Anomaly and fraud detection in the data.

Tracking stays within the rules. It is set to working hours, and drivers switch location off during breaks with private mode. Positions are deleted after two months, the period the CNIL, France's data protection authority, retains as a general rule: our telematics and GDPR guide sets out the framework.

The glossary entries on real-time tracking and fleet supervision explain the terms.

All About Fleet Geolocation with Dadycar

Check out our FAQ. If you don’t find your answers there, contact us by email or via support

Fleet tracking means knowing, at any time, where a company's vehicles are, which trips they make and what condition they are in. The data comes from a GPS tracker or straight from the connected vehicle. It is used to dispatch jobs, protect vehicles and prove work done, within the frame set by the CNIL, France's data protection authority.

In one of two ways. A GPS box plugged into the vehicle's OBD port sends its position over the mobile network. Or, for a connected vehicle, the data comes straight from the manufacturer, with nothing fitted. Either way, the position shows on the web platform and in the mobile app.

In France, yes, within the frame set by the CNIL, the data protection authority: for the safety of employees and vehicles, tracking a service, or better dispatching of call-outs. Employees and their representatives are informed beforehand. It may not be used to check speed or to follow an employee outside working hours: the employee must be able to switch tracking off.

It has to be fitted in every vehicle, it comes with a subscription, and its use must be framed: employees informed, purposes limited, nothing collected outside working hours. Poorly explained, it feels like surveillance. Connected vehicles avoid the fitting, and private mode leaves drivers in control of their personal journeys.

At Dadycar it is included in the Fleet + Telematics plan, at €16 excl. VAT per vehicle per month, with no hardware: the data comes straight from the connected vehicle. There is no minimum term. The plans are detailed on the pricing page.

A GPS tracker is an electronic device used in fleet management that allows real-time vehicle tracking using the satellite vehicle geolocation system (GPS). It receives satellite signals to determine the exact position of the vehicle and transmits this data via a cellular or satellite network to a fleet tracking platform.

The GPS tracker receives signals from satellites and collects geolocation data, supplemented by other information such as speed This data is then transmitted via the cellular network to our secure platform You can easily access it from your web browser or our mobile app Dadycar's artificial intelligence analyzes it to provide you with relevant insights and optimization tips.

The benefits are numerous: route optimization, significant cost reduction (fuel, maintenance, insurance), enhanced safety (drivers, vehicles), improved productivity, easier GDPR compliance, and a complete overview for proactive fleet management. It's an investment that pays off quickly.

Absolutely. Dadycar integrates specific features for electric vehicle fleets (EVs): charge level monitoring, remaining range, and charging station location. AI can also analyze trips to identify the best combustion vehicles to replace with EVs, supporting your energy transition.

Dadycar's AI intervenes at several levels:

  • Route optimization : More refined than standard tools (considering multiple factors).

  • Predictive maintenance : Based on usage data and engine fault code analysis.

  • Behavioral analysis : More nuanced to identify real risks and potential savings.

  • Mission Assignment : Smarter and faster.

Yes. Our solution is strictly designed to comply with GDPR and French/European legislation. We provide detailed configuration options (time slots, privacy mode), support consent management, and ensure data security while justifying the purpose of processing (security, optimization, working time where applicable).

Yes, it’s possible thanks to vehicles natively connected by the manufacturer (OEM). More and more recent models come equipped with built-in OEM connectivity systems that already transmit essential data.

This solution is part of the Dadycar platform.
