Fleet management software

Vehicles, contracts, maintenance, costs, fines and telematics: run your whole fleet from one tool, hosted in France.

  • Hosted in France by OVHcloud
  • GDPR
  • Free up to 50 vehicles

Fleet management software brings a company’s vehicles, contracts, maintenance, costs and drivers together in one place. Dadycar adds telematics — through a GPS box or through connected vehicles with no box at all — and car sharing. It is hosted in France, free for up to 50 vehicles, and its full plans start at €6 excl. VAT per vehicle per month.

What teams gain by running their fleet from one tool

  • Up to−40%of the time spent on maintenance
  • Up to−70%of the time spent producing reports
  • Up to+25%in productivity

A fleet run by hand costs more than it should

  • The data is scattered: spreadsheets, e-mails, leasing portals, fuel card statements.

  • Due dates slip past: roadworthiness tests, servicing, end of contract.

  • Costs arrive too late to be tied back to a vehicle or a team.

What makes people hesitate, and what actually happens

  • “We already have a spreadsheet.”

It does the job for a handful of vehicles; beyond that, reminders and per-vehicle costs need a tool.

  • “Fitting GPS boxes takes time.”

Manufacturers’ connected vehicles send their data with no box fitted.

  • “Our drivers will feel watched.”

Private mode and the French data protection authority’s rules frame what tracking may do.

Frequently asked questions

What is fleet management software?

A tool that brings together everything to do with a company’s vehicles: records and contracts, maintenance and due dates, costs, drivers, fines. With telematics, it adds vehicle position and vehicle data. The point: less typing, no due date missed, costs known vehicle by vehicle.

Software, application, tool, platform: what is the difference?

None, in everyday use: the four words describe the same product. “Application” puts the emphasis on daily use and on mobile, “platform” on several teams working in it, “tool” and “solution” are generic. Dadycar is a web application, with the Dadycar Go mobile app for drivers alongside it.

How much does fleet management software cost?

At Dadycar, €6 excl. VAT per vehicle per month for fleet management, and €16 excl. VAT with telematics. A free plan covers up to 50 vehicles, with limited features. The detail is on the pricing page.

Is there free fleet management software?

Yes: Dadycar has a free plan for up to 50 vehicles, with limited features. For a handful of vehicles a spreadsheet is enough too — our Excel template is a free download. The Dadycar plans and their conditions are set out on the pricing page.

Do GPS boxes have to be fitted in the vehicles?

Not for fleet management. For telematics there are two options: a GPS box, or a direct connection to manufacturers’ connected vehicles, with nothing fitted.

How is this different from fleet tracking software?

Tracking tells you where the vehicles are. Fleet management software also handles contracts, maintenance, costs, fines and drivers. Dadycar does both in the same tool: see fleet tracking.

How is this different from fleet administration software?

The two terms often mean the same thing. “Fleet administration” puts the emphasis on the paperwork: vehicles, contracts, due dates. See fleet administration.

Where is the data hosted?

In France, by OVHcloud. The detail is on the trust and security page.

Is tracking employees legal?

Yes, within the frame set by the French data protection authority: a legitimate purpose, employees informed beforehand, and no tracking outside working hours. Dadycar offers a private mode to the driver. The detail: telematics and the GDPR.

Does the software handle fines and parking charges?

Yes. Notices of offence and post-parking charges are tracked vehicle by vehicle, with the driver concerned. See fines and parking charges.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes: Dadycar Go, the drivers’ app. It is used for booking shared vehicles, for inspections and for notifications.

What fleet size is this for?

Dadycar equips the fleets of small and mid-sized companies, up to several hundred vehicles spread across several subsidiaries.

Can data be brought over from another tool or from Excel?

Yes. The fleet you already have — its vehicles, its contracts and its drivers — is brought over when you start. Fuel cards are connected next.
