Operational steering of a vehicle fleet

You are not judged on what the fleet costs, you are judged on continuity of service. A vehicle off the road is a team that is not producing. Dadycar gives you, on one screen, what is running, what is available and what is blocked, site by site.

Three operational markers

  • Up to +25 % productivity, through workflow automation, according to the benefits Dadycar claims.
  • With or without a device: a GPS-OBD device or a connected OEM vehicle, depending on the vehicles and on fitting constraints.
  • Three modular pillars: fleet management, telematics, car sharing. You open what your sites need.

Your day, today

  • You arbitrate between sites with no visibility. One site asks for a van, another may have one sitting idle.
  • You do not know who has what. Where the vehicles are, which are free, which are coming back today.
  • One surprise stops a team. A breakdown, a claim, a forgotten roadworthiness test, and the round does not happen.

What you steer live

Availability becomes a tracked indicator, not an impression. Trade-offs between sites are made on figures. Surprises come up before they become production stoppages.

Availability rate with a target

The dashboard shows the fleet availability rate against its target. You see the status of the fleet and the vehicles off the road, with how long they have been.

Assignment and scheduling

A day, week or month view to assign a vehicle or book it. With the split between named, shared pool and unassigned. See vehicle assignment and scheduling.

Pooling between teams

The occupancy rate and the bookings show which pool vehicles are under-used. That is the basis of company car sharing that avoids a purchase.

Real-time location

The map gives the state of every vehicle: moving, stopped with the engine running, parked, engine immobilisation active. Useful to send the nearest one, not the one that looks free on paper.

Critical alerts and acknowledgement

Alerts carry a severity, a routing and an acknowledgement. A due date no longer dies in an inbox. See reminders and due dates.

Transfers between sites

When one site has to help out another, the Transports module makes it possible to book a vehicle transport and follow its history.

How it works

  1. 1Create your sites and import the fleet. Every vehicle carries its site, its status and its assignment mode.
  2. 2Open the schedule and the reminders. Assignments, bookings and due dates fit in a single fleet event calendar.
  3. 3Steer from the dashboard. Filters by site and by period, availability targets, export (custom dashboard).

Let us look at your real sites

Bring two sites and their vehicles: we show the availability rate, the downtime and the schedule live.

What your teams will tell you

  • “The drivers will call it surveillance.” The CNIL only allows location tracking for specific purposes. It excludes permanent monitoring and requires that it can be switched off outside working time.
  • “The field crews will not fill anything in.” Inspections go through short forms on mobile, and most of the data comes from the vehicle with no entry at all.
  • “Our sites do not work the same way.” Time slots, maintenance plans and assignment rules are set per site and per vehicle group.

Frequently asked questions

Can employees' vehicles be located in France?

Yes, but only for accepted purposes: safety of people and goods, tracking and billing a service, allocating resources, checking compliance with the rules on using the vehicle, or a sector-specific legal obligation (CNIL).

What does the CNIL forbid when it comes to location tracking?

Permanent monitoring of employees, checking speed limits and collecting data outside working time are excluded (CNIL).

Can an employee switch off the tracking on their vehicle?

Yes. The employee must be able to switch off location tracking outside their working hours, access the data concerning them and object to the system if it does not meet the legal conditions (CNIL).

How long is location data kept?

Two months as a general rule. That rises to one year for optimising rounds or proving a job, and to five years when the data is used to track working time (CNIL).

How do you measure the availability of a vehicle fleet?

The Dadycar dashboard tracks an availability rate against a target, the status of the fleet and the list of vehicles off the road with how long they have been. Filters by site and by period make it possible to compare sites with each other.

How do you know whether a pool vehicle is under-used?

The split between named vehicles, shared pool and unassigned, together with the occupancy rate and car-sharing bookings, shows which vehicles run little and could serve another site.
