Fleet claims management: liability, insurance, fines

Every claim has an owner, an insurance status and a planned repair date; every fine notice finds its driver.

What claims management changes

  • One file per claim: liability, insurance status, service status, planned repair date.
  • Rankings of the drivers and vehicles with the most claims, to guide prevention.
  • Fines attached to the assigned driver, with the ANTAI designation prepared in the Offences module.

When claims and fines pile up

  • The claim is reported to the insurer but nobody knows where the repair stands or who is liable.
  • The same vehicles keep coming back to the body shop with nobody connecting the files.
  • Fine notices arrive at head office, the vehicle is on a site 300 km away, and the driver has changed in the meantime.

What you get with Dadycar

The Claims module and the Offences module share the same data: vehicle, assigned driver, site, documents. You handle the case instead of searching for it.

Claims with liability

Report, liability, insurance status, service status and claim status, planned repair date: one file per event.

Claim rankings

Drivers and vehicles with the most claims, to guide prevention and driver performance monitoring.

Claims tab in the dashboard

Claims appear in the dashboard, filterable by site and by period, exportable for the insurer or for management.

Documents attached to the file

Insurance, driving licence and vehicle contract are already on the record: the claim file is built with no searching.

Fines and parking charges attached to the driver

ANTAI notices and post-parking charges are handled in the Offences module, with the designation prepared; the detail is on the Offences and parking charges page.

Vehicles off the road visible

A vehicle under repair counts among the vehicles off the road in the dashboard, with its planned repair date.

How it works

  1. 1Import vehicles, drivers and assignments. Every claim or notice is attached to the driver assigned on the date of the event (ANTAI integration).
  2. 2Report the claim from the vehicle record. The file opens with the driver, the site and the documents already attached.
  3. 3Follow the statuses through to closure. Liability, insurance, planned repair: everything is visible in the dashboard, claims tab.

Who it is for

  • Fleet managers: one file per claim, tracked through to the repair (see the role page).
  • SME leaders: the fleet's claim record readable before the insurance contract is renewed (see the role page).
  • Multi-site commercial fleets: claims and notices received at head office, handled for each branch (see the industry page).

Your questions before getting started

  • “Do I need a device?” No. The file relies on the vehicle assignment; telematics adds the impact alert and the position of the vehicle at the time of the claim.
  • “What if the driver disputes liability?” The file keeps the assignment, the site and the documents: you have what you need to answer the insurer.
  • “How long does it take to start?” As soon as vehicles and assignments are imported, open claims can be entered.

Frequently asked questions

How do you manage the claims of a vehicle fleet?

By opening one file per claim with the vehicle, the driver, the liability, the status with the insurer, the repair status and the planned repair date. The rankings per driver and per vehicle then make it possible to target prevention.

How do you reduce the accident rate of a company fleet?

By identifying the drivers and vehicles with the most claims, cross-checking that data with the eco-driving score and impact alerts, then targeting training and reminders on those profiles. Tracking repairs also prevents a damaged vehicle from going back on the road unchecked.

How long do you have to name a driver after a fine?

The company has 45 days from the sending of the fine notice to name the driver (article L121-6 of the French Highway Code). After that, the legal entity faces a non-designation fine, with a fixed amount of €675 (ANTAI). The detail is on the Offences and parking charges page.

What is a post-parking charge and who pays it in a company?

The post-parking charge (FPS) has replaced the parking fine in paid parking zones since 2018. The notice is sent to the holder of the registration certificate, therefore to the company, which must pay it within 3 months before it is increased (service-public.fr).

Can fleet management software reduce the number of fines?

It does not remove the offences, but it avoids non-designation fines, attaches every notice to the right driver and highlights the drivers and vehicles most concerned. That data feeds prevention and driver performance monitoring.

Do you need a telematics device to manage claims?

No. Attaching a claim or a notice to the driver relies on the history of vehicle assignments in Dadycar. With a GPS-OBD device or a connected vehicle, the impact alert, the position and the trips of the vehicle at the time of the event complete the file.
