Supply chain fleet management: availability and cost

The fleet is not your subject, it is a link in your chain. What you have to hold is a vehicle available at the right depot, at the right time, at a known cost per kilometre. Dadycar gives you that visibility without adding one more tool for your field teams.

Hosted in France, by OVHcloud · GDPR · Flotauto 2025 Innovation Award · €6 excl. VAT per vehicle per month, free up to 50 vehicles

Three facts before raising it

  • Up to +25 % productivity through the automation of fleet management flows.
  • With or without a device: a GPS-OBD device or a connected OEM vehicle, as your fleet allows.
  • Public pricing: €6 excl. VAT per vehicle per month for fleet management, €16 with telematics, costable depot by depot.

What breaks your plan

  • A vehicle off the road is discovered that very morning. Downtime is never anticipated, it is endured at loading time.
  • The fleet is well sized on average, never per depot. One site is saturated while another leaves vehicles standing.
  • The cost per kilometre stays an annual average. There is no way to say what a flow or an entity really costs.

What Dadycar brings to logistics steering

You do not gain one more operations tool. You gain the upstream view you are missing: what is available, where, for how much.

Fleet availability and utilisation

The dashboard tracks availability and the utilisation rate against numerical targets, filterable by site and by period. Vehicles off the road are counted.

Assignment schedule per depot

A day, week or month schedule shows which vehicle is assigned, booked or free. The trade-off is made on a screen, not on the phone.

Several depots in one account

Every site carries its address, its staff and its vehicles. You finally compare depots with each other instead of adding them up.

Real-time location and idle time

The map gives the state of every connected vehicle. Geofencing raises an alert on idle time in zone, with time slots per site.

Transports between sites

Rebalancing from one depot to another is booked and tracked in the tool, with its history, instead of living in an inbox.

Cost per kilometre and charge-back

Trips, odometer readings and expenses feed a real cost per vehicle. The Cost allocation tab then splits those costs between entities or sites.

How it works

  1. 1Create your sites and import the fleet. Every vehicle receives its depot, its contract and its contract mileage.
  2. 2Open the assignment schedule. Assignments and bookings become readable depot by depot (scheduling and assignment).
  3. 3Plug in trips and expenses. The cost per kilometre builds itself (trips and mileage, cost allocation and ESG).

Related roles and industries

  • Fleet manager: the person who carries it out day to day (see the page).
  • Maintenance and operations manager: the person who makes vehicles available (see the page).
  • Transport and logistics: the industry where this role is most exposed (see the page).

Let us look at two depots

Bring two sites and one month of data. We compare their availability and their cost per kilometre live.

What you will be told internally

  • “What we really need is route optimisation.” Dadycar does not calculate routes and is not a transport management system; it gives you availability, assignments and costs upstream of the transport plan.
  • “We already have an operations tool.” It steers the flows; Dadycar steers the vehicles themselves, and the two complement each other through trip and site data.
  • “Our drivers will refuse to be located.” Zones and time slots limit collection to working time, in line with the CNIL's guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Does Dadycar optimise delivery routes?

No. Dadycar is not a route optimisation tool and not a transport management system. It manages the fleet itself: availability, assignment per depot, real-time location, trips, servicing and costs. The transport plan is still built in your operations tool.

How do you find out the real availability of a logistics fleet?

The dashboard tracks fleet availability and the utilisation rate against targets, and counts the vehicles off the road. The filter by site and by period makes it possible to read each depot separately rather than an overall average.

Can several depots be managed in one account?

Yes. Every site carries its address, its staff and its vehicles. Indicators, schedules and exports filter by site, which makes it possible to compare depots and spot assignment imbalances.

How do you track vehicle movements between sites?

The Transports module makes it possible to book a transport and keep its history, with the vehicle, the type, the start and end dates and the status. Rebalancing between depots stops being handled by email.

How do you calculate the cost per kilometre of a vehicle?

Trips and the odometer history give the mileage, from telematics or entered by hand. Expenses and contracts give the costs. The dashboard brings the two together and splits the result by site or by entity.

Is locating vehicles allowed?

Yes, for specific purposes: safety of people and goods, monitoring and allocating resources, compliance with the rules on using the vehicle. Permanent monitoring and checking speed limits are excluded (CNIL).
