Maintenance scheduling, on the other hand, is the concrete 'who' and 'when'. It is the action of booking a garage appointment for vehicle A, which is approaching 20,000 km. A fleet management software uses the maintenance plan as a rule. It tracks the vehicle's data and, when the mileage reaches the value defined in the plan, it triggers an alert for the manager to proceed with scheduling. Thus, the plan is the strategy, and scheduling is the tactical execution.
