What is location intelligence and how does it go beyond simple tracking?
Location intelligence is the next step after collecting location data.
It's the process that turns raw geolocation data (the 'dots on the map') into true knowledge.
It achieves this by layering fleet data with other datasets, such as demographic data, sales territories, competitor locations, or even weather patterns.
For example, a delivery company could use location intelligence to analyze travel times and delays based on the time of day and neighborhood, in order to redefine its delivery territories and improve its delivery time promises.
A retail chain could analyze its customers' travel patterns to identify the best location for a new store.
In short, if GPS tracking tells you 'where,' location intelligence answers 'where should we go?', 'what is the best path?', and 'why is this territory performing better than another?'.
