What is the difference between GPS tracking and real-time tracking?
While often used interchangeably, GPS tracking and real-time tracking are not exactly the same. 'GPS tracking' is the core technology, while 'real-time tracking' describes the quality and frequency of data transmission. A system that only records position every hour is doing GPS tracking, but not in real-time.

True real-time tracking means the telematics device sends position updates at very short intervals (e.g., every 30 seconds while moving, and more frequently on turns).
